Katrina Murray FdSc RVN
I qualified in 2017 with a Foudation Degree from Hartpury College. Since then I have worked in a couple of local practices and done a little bit of locum work. I joined Riverside in 2019 looking for a busy but friendly practice with good standards of care.
I'm a valleys girl, I have always lived in the area, and grew up with lots of animals from dogs to iguanas. Before starting nursing I did an ND in Animal Managementy at USK College. I love working with animals and it is something I always wanted to do. Medical nursing is my favourite part of the job, I love the hands on patient care, and tending to their individual needs. Spending time with the patients and making them feel that bit better is so rewarding. I also enjoy consulting and helping owners provide the best care they can for their pet.
I am really interested in behaviour and I would like to do a nursing certificate in behaviour in the future, I think this is an area where nurses can really help owners and pets with good advice. I would also be interested in doing an anaesthesia certificate as this is such an important part of the job.
At home I have cats, birds, and fish to look after. I enjoy singing and musical theatre and love performing and occasionally competing. A good bit of arts and crafts is usually going on in my house too, I love being creative and making things with my own hands.
