Joanna Roberts BVMS MRCVS
I came to Riverside in 2018 after spending several years working in a mixed animal practice in mid-Wales. Earlier in my career I have worked in various areas, I have working in both small animal and mixed practices and spent some time in a charity practice. I like being a general practitioner but I also have a keen interest in ultrasonography which I would like to develope further.
I was inspired to become a vet as a youngster after reading books such as Black Beauty and Watership Down. What I like most about being a vet is meeting the different people and animals all the time. At the end of the day, I feel like I have done something good, and that I have helped make a difference to the pets and their owners.
I grew up in a rural environment, my uncle was a farmer and I used to go to help on his farm as a child. I love the natural environment and one of my favourite animals is the Hare, they are such magnificent and graceful creatures.
Outside of work I like to go cycling and I spend a lot of time walking with my dog. Having recently moved to this area I have lots of exploring to do. I also enjoy cooking and I sometimes find time to do a bit of sewing too. My family is very important to me, I love spending time with my children and a fun fact that people often find interesting is that I have a twin sister.
