Riverside Vets
Care for your Pets

Important Information: Changes to weekend services. From September we will be open every third Saturday and Sunday. Click for Full Details

As you may be aware, Riverside Veterinary Care shares out-of-hours duties with Abbey Veterinary Centres. We currently cover an area reaching as far afield as Sennybridge and Lydney.

Providing a traditional emergency call out service is becoming more difficult as our vets already work a full working week, and the increasing weekend emergency workload means that we are contravening current Working Time Regulations.

In order to improve the service that our clients receive out of hours, we are working towards a dedicated out-of-hours service. This will take some time to put into place, but in the meantime we will be trialling a new shift pattern.

FROM SEPTEMBER 3rd 2016: WE WILL NO LONGER RUN A ROUTINE SATURDAY MORNING SURGERY EVERY WEEK. INSTEAD, EVERY THIRD WEEKEND WE WILL OPEN THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND IN ABERGAVENNY providing routine appointments for Riverside clients, and emergency cover on both Saturday and Sunday for Riverside and Abbey Vets clients.

On the remaining weekends, Abbey Veterinary Centre on Hereford Road, in Abergavenny, will provide emergency cover for our clients.

Full details of our weekend services can be printed or downloaded here

Provision of emergency veterinary cover is currently shared with Abbey Veterinary Centre based in Abergavenny. You may sometimes be asked to attend a surgery different to the one you normally use.
